CHILDREN OF GOD opens in theaters.

Acquired by TLA Releasing, CHILDREN OF GOD will open theatrically on May 20 at the Quad Cinemas in New York City. Opening night screenings will be hosted by BET and OUT magazine. Bahama’s based writer/director Kareem Mortimer as well as producers Richard LeMay and Trevite Willis will join the cast for the day long event. “This has been a long time in the making. We’re all just thrilled that the film has made it to theaters.” said LeMay. Having won 14 awards internationally and selling in 15 countries to date, a US theatrical release is the perfect culmination for a beautiful film. BET chooses CHILDREN OF GOD as one of the top 10 films of 2010

BET Network has chosen CHILDREN OF GOD as one of the top ten films of 2010.  This comes on the heels of the movie winning thirteen awards internationally and getting distribution in over eleven countries.  The film’s US and UK distributor TLA, is slated to release the movie this March in theaters.

CHILDREN OF GOD sweeps Atlanta’s Out On Film

CHILDREN OF GOD  screened at this years Out On Film in Atlanta this week, winning the jury award for Best Feature, Best Director (Kareem Mortimer) and Best Actor (Johnny Ferro).  A great moment!

CHILDREN OF GOD wins audience award!

After two sold out screenings at this years NEWFEST Film Festival, CHILDREN OF GOD won the audience award for Best Narrative Feature Film.  This is the fourth award the movie has garnered in the past two months.  Next stop is Frameline in San Francisco and then off to OUTFEST in LA.

CHILDREN OF GOD chosen as closing night film in Boston

Sunday, May 16, 2010 CHILDREN OF GOD screened at the Museum of Fine Art in conjunction with the Boston LGBT Film Festival.  The house was packed and the crowd seemed to love it.

CHILDREN OF GOD chosen as closing night film for London Film Festival

CHILDREN OF GOD  has been chosen as the closing night film for the BFI London Gay & Lesbian Film Festival.  Over 850 attended the screening and the gala afterward.  This prestigious honor follows the screening at the Miami International Film Festival.  Next is Torino Italy followed by many more festivals around the world including New York, Boston, Melbourne and Toronto.

Last Night CHILDREN OF GOD had it’s US premiere at the Miami International Film Festival.  It is a great festival and we are all proud to be a part of it.  Next CHILDREN OF GOD  is scheduled to be the closing night film at the London Gay & Lesbian Film Festival.

TUB Premieres at Sundance Film Festival

TUB premiered on Saturday, January 23, 2010 to a packed house.  By the sound of the audiences laughs and gasps, the screening was a success.

CHILDREN OF GOD is opening night film for BIFF

Friday December 11, 2009: The Bahamas International Film Festival screened CHILDREN OF GOD as it’s opening night film.  The honor itself is prestigious enough but Prime Minister Brent Symonette introduced the movie to a packed house followed by a Q & A from an ecstatic crowd.  The screening was followed by a black tie gala.

Streetwise Picture gets into Sundance!

Streetwise Pictures Entertainment is pleased to announce that The Streetwise Production TUB has been chosen as an official selection in the 2010 Sundance Film Festival.  TUB was produced by Streetwise founder Kim Jackson and directed by the talented Bobby Miller.

CHILDREN OF GOD has been chosen as the opening night film for the Bahamas International Film Festival.  The film which will have it’s world premiere on Friday Dec 11 will be followed by a post screening gala.

Richard LeMay has signed on as creative director for STREETWISE PICTURES.  Founded by Kim Jackson who has worked for Steven Spielberg (MUNICH) and Spike Lee (INSIDE MAN) LeMay will be not only be involved in the developement of projects but will be producing and directing as well.  Up first is the coming of age drama THE SUMMER OF AIDEN POST which he wrote and will be directing this summer.  In the fall the Streetwise team will be producing STARING AT STRANGERS which will shoot in London and stars Lara Belmont (OPEN SKIES) and Claudie Blakey (PRIDE AND PREJUDICE).  Also, THEESE! CONQUERED THE EARTH, a madcap comedy about posessed breast implants will shoot this winter.

WHIRLWIND reaches #1 on best seller list!

Richard LeMay signs on to direct new web series.

Richard LeMay has just signed on to direct a new web series slated to shoot in the spring of 2009.  The currently un-titled comedy series will focus on the lives of three men in New York City.  This marks the second venture from GEN247 Productions who had tremendous success with the popular interactive web series DELETED: THE GAME.

Award winning gay titles boost aggressive DVD release screening schedule for 2009

November 3, 2008, Santa Monica CA-Wolfe Video has announced it has acquired North American rights to several acclaimed gay titles at this years AFM Market.

Amoung the titles announced by Wolfe Video head Maria Lynn are “WHIRLWIND” AND “MULLIGANS”.

WHIRLWIND: a smart and sexy expose about the complexity of gay relationships, is a touching, funny ensemble film exploring non-monogamy, commitment, friendship and more-against the urban backdrop of the Big Apple.  WHIRLWIND hales from director Richard LeMay (200 AMERICAN) and Emmy winning writer Jason Brown (Tender Places).  WHIRLWIND won the audience award for Best Feature at Atlanta’s OUT ON FILM Festival, and was also showcased at prestigious festivals: OUTFEST in Los Angeles and New York’s NEWFEST.  DVD release date is January 27, 2009.

Directed by Richard LeMay and written by Emmy-Award winning writer Jason Brown, Whirlwind is a surprisingly honest depiction of the friendships and relationships of gay men in their 30s living in New York City.
