Whirlwind


This feature film set in New York City centers on a tight-knit group of gay men whose lives are unexpectedly disrupted by a handsome stranger. Both touching and funny, this story follows the wake of one man’s deliberate attempt to destroy the relationships of five men, all the while letting his own friendships unravel around him.

WHIRLWIND was chosen as an official selection of New York’s NEWFEST: Film Festival as well as the prestigious OUTFEST:LA. WHIRLWIND also screened as an official selection of the Out on Film Festival in Atlanta, winning the AUDIENCE AWARD for BEST FEATURE FILM and went on to win the JURY AWARD for BEST FEATURE FILM at the Long Island Gay & Lesbian Film Festival. WHIRLWIND was released on DVD in the US and Canada in January 2009 by WOLFE Releasing where it debuted at #1 in the top 10 best sellers. It remained in the top 10 for eight months. It was released on DVD in 14 countries to date.

New York based director Richard LeMay's new feature film WHIRLWIND has been chosen as an official selection of New York's NEWFEST: Film Festival. WHIRLWIND also screened as an official selection of the Out on Film Festival in Atlanta, winning the audience award for best feature. A second screening was added after selling out. LeMay and Emmy award winning writer/producer Jason Brown teamed up to produce the movie. WHIRLWIND is a drama set in New York City featuring some of the most talented young actors in new York. WHIRLWIND also features music form FL Jones, Mike Levey and Karmine Alers. Currently LeMay is producing the feature film DAYBREAK which shoots in the Bahamas this summer. Last year LeMay Produced and co-directed a documentary entitled MOVE. MOVE was launched in conjunction with photographer James Houston's global charity event with sponsors HUGO BOSS and VANITY FAIR Magazine.
